Welcome to Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. We hope our website gives you a glimpse into who we are as a church family. While you're here, we invite you to get to know our staff, check us out on Facebook, and explore our opportunities for growing in Christ together.
The best way to get to know us is to stop in for a visit. Click here to let us know you're coming, and a member of our Pathfinder team will meet you when you arrive. In the meantime, take a look at our FAQs:
Where should I park?
Our largest parking lot "A"is located on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 12th Street. A handicap-accessible lot is located at the back of the church in the alley(Lot B) between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, with overflow parking available across the alley in Lot C.
Where's the entrance?
We have several entrances to choose from. On Sunday mornings, use any of our entrances and a Pathfinder will help you find your way. On Wednesday evenings, use our fellowship hall entrance, located in the alley between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. If you are attending a wedding, funeral, or special service, use one of the entrances listed below, based on where the service is being held.
- 12th Street: There are two entrances that face our main parking lot on 12th Street. The upper 12th Street doors are close to our sanctuary and Smith Hall, and the lower 12th Street doors are close to our offices and lower-level Sunday School rooms. Youth often enter through the upper 12th Street doors, then go down the stairs directly inside to reach the FAB Lab.
- Fifth Avenue: You are welcome to use our large staircase on Fifth Avenue to enter the sanctuary on Sunday mornings, for weddings, or for funerals. Use the lower Fifth Avenue entrance, located at street level, if you'd like to reach our chapel or staff offices.
- Fellowship Hall: Our fellowship hall entrance, located in the alley between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, is the easiest way to access our fellowship hall, children's classrooms, and FAB Nursery & Preschool. With stair-free access to our sanctuary and elevator, this entrance is the best one to use if accessibility is a concern.
Are you open during the week?
During the week, our doors remain locked to protect our FAB Nursery & Preschool children. If you are visiting our office during the week, please park on Fifth Avenue and enter through the lower 12th Street doors." Use the doorbell to ring our office staff. Office hours are 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m., Monday-Thursday and 8 am - 12:pm and 1 pm - 2:30 on Friday..
What is Sunday morning worship like?
Services at FAB are reflective and reverential. Our hope is that you feel comfortable worshiping with us and are able to connect with God during our time together. Our sanctuary has seating on the main level and in our balcony. Sit wherever you'd like! Our ushers hand out worship guides prior to the service at each door to the sanctuary. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. and lasts about an hour.
What do I do with my kids?
It is one of our greatest blessings to see children walk through our doors! We offer children's programming for all ages during our worship services and Bible studies. When you arrive at FAB, our greeters can direct you to the preschool check-in station, located at the end of the children's wing hallway. On Sunday mornings, from 9:15-9:30 a.m. before Sunday School and 10:30-10:45 a.m. before worship, volunteers are available to guide your children to their proper classrooms. Your children will enjoy a lesson, music, crafts, and other activities geared to their age group. Our wonderful volunteers have undergone special training and regular background checks to work with our children and youth. Click here for more information about our children's ministry.
What should I wear to worship?
You'll see a variety of attire at FAB, from jeans to suits. We don't care what you wear. We just care that you're here!
How do I choose a Sunday School class?
We offer several Sunday School classes. Some of our classes are divided by age, while others are based on certain life situations. Click Here for more information about our adult Sunday School classes. We encourage you to try each one that interests you until you find a class to call home. When you visit us, our Pathfinders can help direct you to a class that may be a good fit.
When is the best time to visit?
Anytime is the best time! If you'd like to participate in our Wednesday night Bible study, join us at 6:00 on Wednesday evening for a time of discipleship and growth. If you're interested in Sunday morning Bible study, join us for Sunday School at 9:30. If you'd like to experience a Sunday morning worship service, come at 10:45.
