On September 11th, our three Discipleship Group Options will begin and run through October 30th:
Prayers for All Seasons with Rev. Alicia Porterfield in the Fellowship Hall. Together we’ll explore the “the church’s prayer book” using history, music, and art and listen for God’s invitation to deeper discipleship.
Christian Civility in an Uncivil World Part II:
I Think You’re Wrong, But I’m Listening:
A Guide to Grace Filled Political Conversations led by Rev. Eric Porterfield in the Cornerstone Classroom. This group will work with the ideas presented in the book by Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers, two believers, lawyers and podcast hosts who share a Christ-centered way of engaging one another and the world around politics and policy.
Conversations: Relational Evangelism in Real Life,
Christy Bird leading in the Parlor . As part of our unfolding Vision process, this group will engage a different approach to evangelism, and how to share our faith in everyday authentic ways.
Also, FAB has the honor of hosting a six week Families Motivating Recovery Group, led by Katherine Allgood at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays beginning September 11th in the Stephen Ministry Room. These groups offer a safe place where community members can receive support and learn more effective ways to communicate with their addicted loved ones. The focus of the groups is how families can use collaboration and kindness rather than confrontation to support behavior change. Learn more at: https://kpcc.com/craft/.
