I grew up in Scott Depot, West Virginia with a large family. I am one of seven children, with four sisters and two brothers. I moved to Huntington in 2008 to attend Marshall University, where i studied English Writing with an emphasis on creative non-fiction. I love to read, write, play music, and spend time in nature. I first realized that I had a passion for working with children when I was in high school and went with a group from my church to Oaxaca, Mexico to volunteer at an orphanage for several weeks. Seeing children grow, learn, and live happily in the midst of poverty is something I have never forgotten. Since that moment I have known that I want to take part in helping children grow, learn, and live happy lives. I started working at FABCare in 2010  where I have worked as a part-time employee, a substitute, an assistant teacher, and a co-teacher. I have recently finished the ACDS Program, and hope to get my degree in Early Childhood Development. Working with children has its rewards each and every day.

Along with my college hours, I completed the ACDS program in 1992. Being an early childhood educator has brought great joy to my life.
