My infant is coming to the church nursery for the first time. What should I bring?
Your diaper bag should contain extra clothes, food, and a pacifier if needed. Please label all items to ensure their safe return. If you have any special feeding instructions, let our nursery workers know when you drop off your child. The Fifth Avenue Baptist Church diaper bag tag is our gift to you.
Who are your volunteers?
All of our volunteers have received special training on the protection of children and undergo regular background checks. Only approved volunteers are allowed to care for children at FAB. To further ensure your children's safety, we ask that you sign in your children at our check-in station, noting any allergies and special instructions. Upon check-in, you and your children will receive matching stickers. When you pick up your children, present your sticker to our volunteers.
How are children's classes divided?
Our children are separated by age for some activities, but we also meet frequently as a larger group to encourage children of different ages to grow in faith together. On Sunday mornings, children are divided into the following age groups:
- Infants ages 0-1
- Toddlers ages 1-2
(Infants move up to the Toddlers group when they are able to walk.) - Toddlers ages 2-3
- Preschoolers ages 4-5
- Kindergarten-2nd grade
(Children in kindergarten-2nd grade join us for our sanctuary worship service until the special lesson called Our Future. After Our Future, children exit the sanctuary for Second Hour Worship in the third floor Art Room #313.. Parents pick up their children in room 313 following the worship service.) - 3rd-5th grade
(Children in 3rd-5th grade join us for our sanctuary worship service and our special children's lesson called Our Future. After Our Future on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, children in these grades exit the sanctuary for Second Hour Worship in the FAB Activity classroom. Parents pick up their children in the FAB Kids Activity Room #306 following the worship service.)
