Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
There are more than 13.1 million children in this country who are at risk of hunger Children are fed during the school week by federal government programs but we want to make sure they're getting nutritional meals over the weekend too.

Fifth Avenue Baptist Church supports "Blessings in a Backpack" at Central City Elementary in the month of January 2019. Other partnering churches will be supporting the school in the other months. On January 4th at 10 am meet at the lower 12th street door to bring in food. Saturday, January 5th at 10 am food organization in Smith Hall and Sunday, January 6th immediately after worship we will have the assembly. in Smith Hall.
